Riders add QB Joe Licata to neg list

Saskatchewan added quarterback Joe Licata to their negotiation list on February 20, 2017.

The 24-year-old set the all-time passing yards, passing touchdowns and single-season passing touchdowns marks at the University of Buffalo, eclipsing Drew Willy for tops in those categories. Over four seasons, Licata started 40 games compiling a 21-19 win-liss record while completing 823 of 1,359 attempts (61 percent) for 9,485 yards, 76 touchdowns and 37 interceptions with a 132.2 QB rating. He holds the Bulls program record for passing yards in a single game (497).

The six-foot-two, 210-pound pivot attended Bills rookie mini-camp last year, but Buffalo did not sign the Western New York native. Then Licata inked a deal with the Bengals as an undrafted free agent, but he was released on August 29 and gone unsigned since.

This guy is great in the pocket, great poise and accurate passer. He has some mobility and not not afraid to roll out of pocket . Promising prospect.Whether college skills can transfer into the wide CFL field and the motion of CFL defenses is the question as with all QB prospects

  3. Wtf …..I thought it was supposed to be Johnny Manzel ???? What gives Dunk

It’s probably time for all teams entire neg lists to be publicized. Am I the only one that thinks the past few Riders neg list moves being published is a total crock of BS. Having said that, at least this player is less than 30 years old!

don’t you like knowing these things about your team?I’d love updates and video on players stamps a courting

@Riders13: I agree… At least this 24-yr-old prospect has a future ahead of him. IMHO Young isn’t even training camp fodder.

  5. At least they are getting younger..LOL

    Brandon Bridge is done.

  7. Another QB on the Rider negotiation list? (Yawn) So much for all the talk about being happy with the backups. Mr. Jones is 1 busy guy. THOUSANDS were “evaluated” last year (how do you do that?) This year massive change again – I see 10-12 different starters on the 24 playing offence & defence. 1 QB, 2 OL, 1 RB, 2 REC, 2 DT, 2 LB & 1-2 DB’s. Is continuity a problem? Darian says yes. Rebuild Year 2, same as Rebuild Year 1. Good luck.

Vince young claims he’s coming to the riders. This guy might have to wait in line

  9. Dunk only 2 weeks late with this one instead of 2 months like last time…

Wow after reading the new 3 Down Nation headline about BLM laying roots in Calgary in really makes you realize Calgary’s on a level that’s out of reach for Riders. To use a present day Hockey comparison ;The Washington Capitals to the Las Vegas Golden Knights

  11. You just love stirring things up don’t you. And you wonder why you don’t get any respect here.

For what reason do you comment on a Stamp story, when this is a Rider story?

    • stampland // March 6, 2017 at 6:54 pm //

not at all.I comment on many all stamps and many other teams’ stories .Go back and look.Just though it’s interesting the latest and Sask/Cal came out one after another and the comparison struck me
