Lions bringing in former Argos, Ticats, Riders and Stampeders QB Mitchell Gale

Quarterback Mitchell Gale is on his way to B.C. according to TSN’s Farhan Lalji.

Lions pivot Travis Lulay suffered what’s believed to be a major knee injury in B.C.’s win over Montreal, which caused a need at the position for Wally Buono.

The 27-year-old has played for the Argos, Ticats, Riders and most recently attended Calgary Stampeders training camp during four seasons in the CFL.

Gale made his first three career starts with the Riders in 2016 when Saskatchewan starter Darian Durant went down with an injury in July. In his first career start, the six-foot-one, 225-pound passer threw for 354 yards against Ottawa, leading the Riders to their first win of the season.

He’s thrown for 1,050 yards, four touchdowns and three interceptions in 13 career games.

  1. Wish we could have talked Vernon Adams into being patient and waiting for his opportunity last year.

  2. Collaros is available just send us e few good Canadians

  3. I always thought Gale was more than adequate in his starts with the Riders last year. He did beat the Grey cup champs, not once but twice as the starter last year for Sask.
