Riders sign O’Day, Murphy and Davis to extensions that match Jones

Front-office staffers Jeremy O’Day, John Murphy and Mike Davis have agreed to two-year extensions to stay in Regina through 2019, matching Chris Jones’ one-year extension

O’Day went from the field to front office in 2011 after 11 seasons on the Riders offensive line. 2018 will be his third season as assistant vice-president of football operations and administration.

While Murphy continues in his role as assistant vice-president of football operations and player personnel after coming over from Calgary when Jones was hired as head coach and general manager.

Davis joined the Riders in September 2016 and comes back as the manager of football administration.

“It was important for our organization to create continuity within our football operations to build on the strong foundation that’s been established,” president and CEO Craig Reynolds said Tuesday in a statement. “Chris is a proven winner and has surrounded himself with a valuable support system of experienced individuals.”

    Poor Als.

This doesnt mean that the Als cant hire Murphy or O’Day as GM once Kavis is eventually punted ( probably at or before season end 2018). It just means no help coming from these gentlemen in the next year.

      • Correct, but dispels Dunks rumor mongering from earlier in the month regarding Murphy!!! As well as they stating the Riders had RESIGNED Jefferson which still is NOT The CASE !!!! Realy speaks to the creditability of these two fellows reporting wise !!!!

Now wait a second. This is 3downnation. Should we not be taking these stories of all these re-signs as a possible fake news stories? We know how this site makes stuff up about the riders. What do you all say rider fans????

      Let’s start with shut up.

The story is on TSN, CFL.ca, both the Riders and CFL Facebook pages.

Your troll game is weaker than a BLM pass into the endzone with the Grey Cup on the line.

lol.. Clearly I have to spell this out.
I was saying this to make a point. I do not literally question if this is true………WOW!

No, I got it. Your point is that you’re a troll that will write anything to get a reaction. And my reaction was to call you out for being the walking, breathing buzzkill that you are. We done here or do I need to put it in a country song so that it makes sense? Maybe stamp it on a belt buckle? How about if I write in teeny, tiny writing so it fits on label of the bottle of flunitrazepam you take to the Stampede each year?

      • BEST comment of the Year !!!!!!! I wont stop laughing for a week after reading that one !!!!

  3. More great news! Rider on!

  4. Hey I talked to WILLIE he said he signed over 2 weeks ago as it leaked out. He will be bk in green and white along with jovon and ese.

    • ummm ok, and you are ????? no offense intended . Riderville web sight is pretty quite regarding any resignings, soooo I am a bit skeptical , perhaps they have resigned under certain conditions— no announcement till they (players) have family time ( and can be present at news conference for announcement ) , or exhaust all NFl inquires , etc. Maybe the Rider s just want to keep us in suspense and make it like Christmas present and do anouncements christmas eve. However bottom line at present is officially NO-one is resigned and that is a bit unnerving

    • ok my apologies , just listened to Chris Jones presser on the Riders CFL web sight , and yes he stated they have an agreement in place for Jefferson , it s just not officially signed yet, ergo was busy with other tasks etc. Jones staed he expects Jefferson to be nowhere but with Riders come season start. That is GOOOOOOOOOOD News indeed. gotta love that the Riders have had 2 player tryout camps already, NOW that is how a teams build s for the future, no time waisted in looking for great talent .
