Bombers sign former Riders and Ticats Canadian receiver Mitchell Baines

Canadian pass catcher Mitchell Baines has signed a two-year contract with the Winnipeg Blue Bombers.

He has spent time with the Riders and Ticats. Last season Baines played three games making four catches for 33 yards.

The standout USports receiver attended the 2016 Montreal Regional Combine where he ran a 4.67 40-yard dash recorded a 29-inch vertical, 9-foot, 1.5-inch board jump, 7.27-second three-cone drill and 4.31-second shuttle. He went unselected in the 2016 CFL Draft.

  3. I actually liked this guy as a Ticat but wish him well with the Bombers.

  4. He was with the Riders early last year. He’s a big kid with great hands, just needs a little more time to develop. You got a good one Winnipeg.

  5. I agree with Scottsask . Does the name Matt Coates ring a bell with Bomber fans ? This kid has similar tools . He’s a special teamer and Canadian depth receiver with lots of growth potential .
