  1. Case closed!
Get him up here for camp

  2. He’s out on bail until he appears in court Matlock. Oy Vey

    • So what, he can just get his lawyer to phone in and delay it

      • Riders23 // April 18, 2018 at 8:09 pm //

HE HAS BEEN CHARGED WITH ASSAULT (RESISTING ARREST) a violent CRIME !!!!!!! Ergo will not be ALOUD across the BOARDER by customs officials !!!!! GEEEES!!!! If his case moves through court he can apply to the Canadian government FOR a dispensation that will allow him to work in Canada. Gov’t will decide if they will allow a VIOLENT offender INTO Canada regardless if he is found innocent or GUITY!!! Why do you think EVERYONE on the sight has SAID THESE charges are VERY serious!!!!!!!!!!!!—— Good Gawd common sense just does not permeate your DNA Red.

        • If he’s on bail he’s free, his lawyer can simply phone in and delay it until the season is done.

Mr Bed head… Many criminals out on bond have several stipulations. This dude is facing assault of a police officer. With that I guarantee you that he was told he could not leave the State and was more than likely made to give up his passport.
He’s not busted for making Dad’s cookies in an easy bake oven with green Bud decorating the coating. Finch is in a series pinch. He’s not going anywhere until this is looked after in the courts.

          • And he was due in court before this incident

          • Riders23 // April 18, 2018 at 9:04 pm //

OK let me spell it out to YOU!!!! Have you ever been out of Canada —- to another country ?????? THE nice people at customs before you enter a FORIEGN country look at YOUR passport and ask 1 simple question: Have youever been CHARGED with a criminal offence ( not are you innocent of /free on bail for any criminal offence). As Customs officers have Handcuffs/Mace/GUNS!!! and are looking at information on a computer screen accessed throught your passport scan MOST folks realize its important to answer this question honestly: Should someone lie to the nice customs officers they have NICE SMALL LOCKED rooms in AIRPORTS or customs terminal where you politely invited ( As we are Canadians after all ) to have a seat in and waite for in the nice AMERICAN MARSHALLS or customs officers to take you back to USA as YOU are DEPORTED/Evicted from Canada , oh by the WAY you also FACE NEW quite serious charges of trying to enter a foreign country illegally ( by giving false information to customs and immigration officials ) . By the way this more the CASE where the PERSON HAS like FINCH been charged with a very serious VIOLENT offence LIKE ASSULTING A POLICE OFFICER . Most countries take stuff like that kina seriously when someone is trying to come live 4-8 months in their nation. But in your mind playing for the Stamps makes you like ROYALTY and think the rules don’t apply to Finch as he has diplomatic immunity!!! Lord, BCDAVE is correct it is like trying to teach a brick to spell when dealing with Ya !!!

          • Yes he is free on bail but can’t enter Canada. Canada border services won’t let someone in that is out on bail.

        • you forget we have open borders. An American passport should easily get you into Canada (unless you are carrying illegal items.

You are entirely wrong and should be embarrassed for the last couple of uninformed comments you’ve made. They are equally inaccurate as the rhetoric you spew here.

          • True Green // April 19, 2018 at 12:43 am //

My comment above mean for Red

        • tnx for the chuckle riders23….how the heck do you spell a word like permeate correctly, and stumble all over allowed, and border?
Anyway, you are right about the seriousness of his charges. If he is convicted of assaulting a police officer, that is a felony, not a misdemeanor. Customs would have to determine if he is a “net benefit” to the country. His application for entry would have to be adjudicated before an attempted entry, and the likelihood of a favorable decision drops dramatically according to the gravity of the offence. So….his case would have to land on the desk of a customs official who is as completely irrational, and/or psychotic as red, in order for him play up here.

          • Riders23 // April 19, 2018 at 5:30 pm //

Sorry DAKAZ my internal spell check seems to vanish along with my patience and typing ability when doing a reply to one of Red’s less then well thought out posts.

      • Ok Mr. Know-it-all. What are the Bail conditions?

Exactly, just as I tought. No freakin clue, AS USUAL !!!

    • NEVER have I seen anyone talk so much out of both sides of his face. You ALMOST have to feel sorry for him don’t you?

  3. Zero grasp on reality – NONE!

    • Don’t be so hard on yourself

      • Greenland // April 18, 2018 at 8:13 pm //

I doubt he’ll be allowed to leave the country until after his court date. And only then if he’s found not guilty.

    • Riders23 // April 18, 2018 at 8:11 pm //

Seriously the guy has got to be related to Forest GUMP !!!! I feel your pain Yup !!!

    • greenenvy? // April 18, 2018 at 9:26 pm //

I don’t know Yup. Justin’s in charge. He’ll probably cross over in Quebec like everybody else. May even get a photo op with our flower child PM.

      • Now that was funny !!! Comment of the night, AS a supporter of Justin though I would hope he would know well enough to steer clear of a train wreck like Finch .

      • You got me there envy. I think sir socks alot is a complete waste of DNA

  4. Do you guys not learn about the Geneva convention in High School social studies??

  5. 3rd and 1
That would be true……..prior to Nafta

  6. Pennyrocker // April 18, 2018 at 9:20 pm //

Red did you make it out kindergarten.

The guys on charges in the States not Canada. He will be turned back at the border until the incident is dealt with. Then maybe let into Canada.

    • lolololl,,OMG! Do you don’t know what NAFTA is? Its free trade! It allows free movement across the borders!

    • From the CBSA website:

      Assault

The offense of assault in Canada is section 265 of the Criminal Code of Canada.

This is a hybrid offense and thus you will not be deemed rehabilitated for 10 years.

In other words, you will not be automatically “cleared” for entry until 10 years passes from the date your sentence was complete

Generally, you can still apply for “criminal rehabilitation” 5 years after your sentence is complete (including any probation or conditional sentence periods of time)-

  7. Mr.Finch cannot leave the state that any municipal or federal legal or police authority has been assaulted
That is law in all 49 states – excluded is the Lone Star State ( Texas )
Mr.Finch term in the CFL is now – terminated

    • Please study sections 3.1.1.12 and 3.1.1.13 of the Geneva convention and the sections regarding border protocol in Nafta. He can absolutely cross the border with proper documentation

      • Green&Gold // April 18, 2018 at 10:11 pm //

        And permission from a judge

      • NO – check out the CBSA website, he can NOT cross the border:

        Assault

    • interesting , is that in effect post trial and dispensation of the charges — guilty or not guilty? and Funny one would think Texas would be front and centre enforcing a condition like that regarding assault to a legal officer

  8. I would plead insanity and request a trade to the Riders. That way they’ll know your nuts for sure.

  9. Aside from him still having issues with going to court, he the charges are dropped, which they most likely won’t be, the Commissioner will still have something to say about this or do something about this. He doesn’t always let off players easy like the lineman that signed with BC, or even Manziel took such a long time to get approved into this leugue. Even if he got out on bail, he is not even near good shape to go to camp, if you haven’t seen the photo of him.

  10. Gawd cant waite to see the posts from certain indiviuals after 3DN has the article Finch : guilty of multiple drug charges /assaulting a police officer as a 3 time offender FINCH was reprimanded into custody and sentenced to 20 years without the possibility of parole under the serial offenders provision !!!!

    • That’s so kind of you.
      I can’t wait to read:
Duron Carter wears out welcome in sask, Chris Jones fired.

  11. Assaulting a police officer in the state of Oklahoma – automatic jail !

    • And CBSA won’t allow someone convicted of assault into Canada after they are released.

  12. Jose Perez // April 18, 2018 at 10:47 pm //

If anyone gives him permission it’s a judge and the attorney general. Believe I know from first hand experience. INS documents must also be processed for re entering which can take up to six months.

    • It doesn’t matter if the judge or attorney general gives him permission. It’s CBSA that won’t let him into Canada
The offense of assault in Canada is “section 265 of the Criminal Code of Canada”
In other words, you will not be automatically “cleared” for entry until 10 years passes from the date your sentence was complete.

  13. Pennyrocker // April 18, 2018 at 11:02 pm //

Gee thought Mr.Red was am Apple now he telling everyone he is an orange. This has nothing to do with free trade. I told you to lay off eating them cow pies.

  14. That’s good – yup

  15. SET ME FREE and then I can FLY AWAY to CANADA as soon as possible. Case closed.

  16. True Green // April 19, 2018 at 12:50 am //

I’m definitely not coming to you guys for legal advise. Ever. Lol.

  17. While riderfans pile on Roy Finch and gleefully remember the story of Tommy Campbell, we must remember this, these Stampeders committed crimes outside Canada/Calgary during the off season and they weren’t far reaching.
Taj Smith, Eric Tillman, Dwight Anderson, Trevis Smith, Justin Cox and so on and so on……committed crimes in the country/city they played/ worked and were welcomed into. Consider too the nature of these crimes, think of the social problems these monsters created that are, no doubt; still being felt today, not to mention the tax dollars.
    What’s worse??

    • True Green // April 19, 2018 at 8:09 pm //

Pot cookies make Duron a monster while swinging at a cop weeks after getting a controlled substance charge makes Finch a what in your mind? Does it matter what country anyone exhibits bad judgement or criminal behaviour in?

  18. Edward Leslie // April 19, 2018 at 4:35 am //

    Riders23 and mr. red:
While it would seem unlikely that a player charged with assaulting a cop would be allowed to travel to Canada, I remember a precedent of a player that WAS allowed to. Ironically, he played for both Calgary and Saskatchewan too (as well as Winnipeg).
Linebacker Shonte Peoples was actually charged with, and convicted of shooting at police when he played at the University of Michigan. He thought that some crooks were trying to steal his car and he shor at the “thieves” who turned out to be police!
Peoples, after being convicted, ended up playing for Las Vegas and Birmingham during the US expansion of the mid-90s. When the U.S. teams folded, he played for many years in western Canada.
It might not have happened right away, but even with a felony on his record, he was allowed to cross the border and play in the CFL for close to a decade.
I can’t see Roy Finch being allowed to join the Stampeders in 2018, but 2019 and beyond is a possibility.

  19. Margaret Marshall // April 19, 2018 at 9:13 am //

Roy Finch is looking at jail time down the road as assaulting police is a serious issue. What was he thinking. Then there is the issue of race. There are factors involved that have not come to light. Not a good situation for Roy. I hope he can move through this but the storm clouds are gathering here

  20. tnx for the chuckle riders23….how the heck do you spell a word like permeate correctly, and stumble all over allowed, and border?
Anyway, you are right about the seriousness of his charges. If he is convicted of assaulting a police officer, that is a felony, not a misdemeanor. So….his case would have to land on the desk of a customs official who is as completely irrational, and/or psychotic as red, in order for him play up here.
What is somewhat puzzling is the amount of his bail. Bail is usually commensurate with the gravity of the charges. $6K isn’t very much. I wonder if his “mauling” by officers has the prosecutors back-pedaling a bit?

  21. Sorry guys, part of the Geneva convention was an entire section on freedom for prisoners.

  22. guy a real role model; keep him out of the cfl

  23. I look at Mr Red comments and I think,”wow! so that’s the sperm that won.” You are staggeringly uninformed, unread, unlettered , and completely uninteresting.

  24. Well the supreme court just ruled ,it is still illegal to bring beer across the border in Canada and finch thinks he has problems..

  25. Dog Drool // April 19, 2018 at 5:07 pm //

Mr Red and Rider23 good comments but Roy has not just been charged once for crimes this is a second offense withe in a month. As a Stamp fan I truly do not believe he will be coming back to Calgary any time soon. In fact he just may end up in jail for a period of time if convicted. Remember to Rider23 he has not been proven guilty (although he is) and therefore free but the court may take his passport which would then end his career as a Stamp. Truly a great talent but in all seriousness his chances are slim to none. Tommy Campbell proved that it was not his back pack even though it was a stamp back pack it was someone he knew that did confess it was his thus Campbell got off charges of drugs but fleeing from police they gave him community service I believe. Thus no criminal record so to speak. Roy on the other hand is facing three felony charges. Those usually carry a prison term. To be hones I truly hope he does not come back and stays and get help to fix is life as he really screwed this one.

  26. Riders23 // April 19, 2018 at 5:50 pm //

My final statement on the matter : Jeff’s comments are truly the ones that are ‘SPOT ON’ all legal issues aside : It comes down to the decision making and procedure of the Canadian Boarder Crossing agency and their agents in performance of their duty that establishes the entry or not of any individual foreign or domestic at point of entry PERIOD!!! IF the NICE Guys and Gals say NOPE you cant come IN !!!!!! that is the END of the story . If one ignores What they tell ya well that opens a WHOLE other can of consequences for ya !!!

  27. Left eye making an appearance on Live PD tonight?

  28. Maybe Finch can go join the NFL (National Felon League)? He’d feel right at home there.
