Podskee Wee Wee, Episode 108

On this week’s show, Mike and I discuss Johnny Manziel finally signing with the Ticats, the potential end of the long and arduous Tim Hortons Field lawsuit, the return of Mathieu Girard to the Ticats, the slew of roster moves the team made prior to the start of training camp and, oh yeah, the start of training camp (and what we are looking to learn over the next two-ish weeks). We also talk about Darian Durant’s and Nik Lewis’ retirements, the Bombers signing Adam Bighill, and the release of John White by Edmonton and Jovon Olafioye by Montreal (and Olafioye’s roast of Kavis Reed on Twitter).

  1. The only thing I want to enjoy is a TC GC. 1999 was a LONG time ago. Masoli, Manziel…whoever…bring it home baby.

Manziel’s contract I think is way too high of a salary. He has no CFL experience, Did not play in 2017 & The Ticats have an established starting QB. There is no guarantee that he will make the team. I do think Manziel has brought an appropriate attitude to the organization and should have the same equal chance to be a part of the Ticats. I agree with Josh’s point near the 10:00 minute mark about Manziel’s starting job. If Manziel is starting Masoli either did not play well and failed at QB or Masoli got injured in the season. I don’t see Manziel automatically punching his ticket into being the best CFL QB All-Time & The Ticats starter. Most likely Manziel will be a back-up with the Tabbies. Manziel did make himself clear in the media that he just wants to play have time tossing the ball. Potentially if he doesn’t receive any playing time with Jeremiah Masoli starting he may request a trade. The future in the QB slot for Ticats has quite a bit of questions remaining.

I just hope Masoli can improve his short game and his red zone production.
