Riders’ Brandon Bridge aims to change perceptions about Canadian QBs

Darren Steinke, Canadian Press

Brandon Bridge only has to ask his teammates if he needs assurances that he is changing perceptions about Canadian quarterbacks in the CFL.

Last season with the Saskatchewan Roughriders, the Toronto product won his one start and came off the bench in numerous other contests completing 92-of-138 passes for 1,236 yards, 10 touchdown passes and four interceptions. He also ran the ball 20 times for 127 yards and scored one major.

During last year’s 25-21 Eastern Final loss to the eventual Grey Cup champion Toronto Argonauts, Bridge came off the bench for the Roughriders connecting on 11-of-21 passes for 141 yards and one touchdown.

With all the big plays he made in 2017, the 26-year-old kept hearing over and over again from his teammates he was sending a powerful message to aspiring quarterbacks in Canada that they can play the position in the CFL.

“If I actually failed, then it really closes the door for a lot of younger kids,” said Bridge, who stands 6-foot-5 and weighs 235 pounds. “My success is definitely really important, and that is definitely what I am going to try and do. I want to leave a legacy.

“For opening up a door and changing and breaking down a barrier and having the younger generation have an opportunity, I think that means way more than having all the accolades in the world.”

It’s been nearly 50 years since the last Canadian quarterback to leave a significant impact on the league, Hall of Famer Russ Jackson, retired. The Hamilton native led the Ottawa Rough Riders to three Grey Cups.

And with the Alouettes in 2015, Bridge became just the first Canadian quarterback to start behind centre in 19 years.

Under CFL rules, teams are required to have 20 Canadians on their roster with a minimum of seven as starters at any point in the game. The quarterback position doesn’t count towards that ratio, and that is something Bridge would like to see changed.

He discussed the issue with CFL commissioner Randy Ambrosie in the off-season.

“Actually, it went well,” said Bridge. “I just told him that we were sending a terrible message to our youth.

“The CFL wants to encourage football development, but we’re not helping our development if we don’t change this ratio and let a quarterback having a Canadian nationality actually have that opportunity to actually play quarterback.”

Last December, Bridge signed a one-year contract extension to remain with the Roughriders. At the time, it appeared he might be a favourite to be the club’s starting quarterback.

That changed in early January when the Roughriders made a trade with the Hamilton Tiger-Cats to acquire veteran starter Zach Collaros and signed him to a restructured contract.

Even with Collaros on the Roughriders roster, Bridge said he has to play as if he is trying to win the starting job.

“Obviously, every day I am going to have to compete no matter what, even if Zach (Collaros) wasn’t here,” said Bridge. “I would just still compete and still put my best foot forward, because there are other guys that definitely want to be the guy.

“We are all fighting for the same job, but we are all going to be supportive and help each other out.”

Bridge elected to remain with the Roughriders because of his comfort level with head coach and general manager Chris Jones. The signal-caller believes he has a legitimate chance to prove himself under Jones.

“It is, ‘Can you throw the football from point A to point B?’ that is all that matters,” said Bridge. “That is why I respect coach (Chris) Jones a lot.

“It is, ‘Can you catch the ball? Can you run? Can you throw? Can you play football?’ And that is what it all comes down to.”

Jones hasn’t anointed anyone at Roughriders training camp as the starting quarterback. Going into the Roughriders first pre-season game on Sunday in Edmonton against the Eskimos, a number of regulars aren’t expected to play much if at all. It is expected B.J. Daniels, David Watford and Marquise Williams will see the bulk of the action at quarterback over Collaros and Bridge.

“We’ll let you all know tomorrow what we plan on doing quarterback-wise,” said Jones after practice at Saskatoon Minor Football Field on Friday. “There are not going to be any secrets in what we do.

“We’ve got guys to evaluate. We’re going to get a good solid look at all of our guys.”

119 Comments on Riders’ Brandon Bridge aims to change perceptions about Canadian QBs

  1. Yes. And he’s going to have to prove it alone since Buckley realized how shit he was and packed it in for rubber gloves and a bed pan.

    • Mr Red. // May 25, 2018 at 7:58 pm //

and will any rider fans call out Rouge like they do me?

    • Ridersfan // May 25, 2018 at 8:09 pm //

Nothing wrong with Rouges comment , he is accurate and true Bridge does have to prove he continues to be on the Riders as does Collaros and who ever is #3 Watford, Williams or Daniels, its called PRO football. he is also correct that Bridge currently having to that ALONE as he is the only Cdn born qb with Roster/Game experience left in the league now that Buckley folded like a cheap lawn chair and packed it in , SO MUCH for how great the Stamps are at developing young Canadian Qb’s. ROTFLMAO at RED when he try to spin the BUCkley folding thing !!! Like Bo Me Vi seems ‘mentally weak trait runs firm in the Stamp qb stable.—–

    • Mr Red. // May 25, 2018 at 8:29 pm //

I guess Brandon Bridge is more committed and brave than Andrew Buckley. He must have said thanks but no thanks to medical school so he could play 8 more years in the CFL than go work at a station for the rest of his life.

      • And more talented

      • Ridersrule // May 26, 2018 at 11:12 am //

I’m curious after that comment and I want a answer . What did your precious Mitchell take as a major in college and why isn’t he doing that instead of playing football. You are all over bridge for continuing to play football, does that mean there should be no pro sports.
Do you acually never read your comment you just grab the calculator answer the math question and gleefully hit enter and wait for a responce like a puppy waiting for chow.

  2. Mr Red. // May 25, 2018 at 8:01 pm //

Buckley (like Picton) is a true Canadian QB. They were both fully trained in the Canadian game. Bridge isn’t.

    • By this logic, Cornish was not a true Canadian.

      • Lancaster/Reed // May 25, 2018 at 10:03 pm //

By reds logic that is absolutely correct. Cornish should have to give back some of his hardware. And also, Bridge is a lot more Canadian than Singleton.

        • Mr Red. // May 25, 2018 at 10:27 pm //

So is that why Jones never drafted him? He had a conscience that wouldn’t allow him to take a player with such a loose definition of a Canadian?

        • CFLFIRST // May 25, 2018 at 11:34 pm //

Singleton couldn’t find Canada on a map before he came to the stamps. I don’t know why he is eligible to be considered a Canadian.

Bridge grew up in Canada and played high school football in Canada. Lots of Canadians go down to the states for college football and make their way north.

          • Mr Red. // May 26, 2018 at 12:31 am //

            Because his Mom was Canadian.
Whatever the case, we have a ratio breaking MLB who happens to be the best in the game today. He was a known prospect.

      • Mr Red. // May 26, 2018 at 12:49 am //

        Cornish wasn’t a QB , was he?

  3. dangnabbit // May 25, 2018 at 8:02 pm //

“It is, ‘Can you throw the football from point A to point B?’ that is all that matters.”

No, sorry. The skill that really separates starters from backups in the CFL is the ability to make the correct decision whether to throw from point A to point B, or to point C, D, or E. And the information you need to make the correct decision is found by studying the patterns of movement in the defence. It’s just like driving a car: almost anyone can operate the wheel & pedals, but a good driver needs to understand how other drivers are likely to behave, based on what he sees from behind the wheel. And that takes experience in both cases.

  4. White Horse // May 25, 2018 at 8:05 pm //

Rouge…you slider fans constantly chastise Mr Red because he is a sh$t disturber??? And just what the hell are you doing with this stupid assinine post? Rider fans please take notice!!!

      • Mr Red. // May 25, 2018 at 8:12 pm //

The thought that you are talking to different people just kills you, doesn’t it Rouge?

        • Not at all. It proves your mental instability. The trauma that you suffered as an infant is starting to show itself. It usually happens earlier in life, but for those with cognitive lags, such as yourself, it can continue well into their 50’s

        • True Green // May 25, 2018 at 11:22 pm //

You’ve admitted to regularly using more than one handle in a thread (that’s pretty ridiculous and childish in itself) AND changing your handle in a regular basis. You’ve only recently quite doing that because everyone can tell it’s you regardless if the name you go by.

Now I may be wrong but I don’t believe White Horse is little Red. White Horse isn’t anywhere near as disrespectful but he/she is definitely wearing rose coloured glasses.

    • Lancaster/Reed // May 25, 2018 at 9:58 pm //

White horse. We throw back at the stamps 1/10th of the bs that red ALONE gives the riders, and you get upset. If you dont like it then tell red to piss off, because it’s only going to get worse. I can promise you that.

  5. Will his aim at changing perceptions be a pitiful as his aim when throwing a football?

  6. White Horse // May 25, 2018 at 8:15 pm //

I personally would revel in just knowing that B Bridge beat out Colloros for the starting job. Buckley has been demonized over being a two time Hec CRIGHTON CIS AWARD winner. He was tutored by Dickenson, Huff and Dinnwide also. I believe the Stamps organization were viewing Buckley taking the next major step in his QB maturity. Dispicable of any CFL or any fan to chastise him for his life choice!!

    • Oh Jerry

    • Riderfan // May 25, 2018 at 8:50 pm //

ROtFLMAO at you , Buckley demonized just cant laughing over that. Why would anyone in his right mind think Buckley is even relevant talent wise . Winning that trophy is like winning a midget hockey MVP award when related to the real professional or NCAA football. Its the MR Irrelevant, award, and even the books on his bookshelf laugh at the Crighton Award as being even a bad example of a book-stop. The Creighton Award is the only sport award that an athletic trash can would through back out!!!!! What a joke !!!!! ROTFLMAO still!!!!!

  7. You’re different alright. All of you

  8. Oskee Wee Wee // May 25, 2018 at 8:47 pm //

I actually know Brandon Bridge personally and what a great guy. Has quite a bit of football experience, understands the game and understands positional abilities for quarterbacks. Nice guy with a relaxed sense of humour. Always willing to share Starbursts Gummies. Great quarterback, great person on and off the field. I hope he starts a legacy and brings in more Canadian QB Depth to the CFL.

    • Rider34 // May 25, 2018 at 8:57 pm //

So agree, fortunate to have recently met Bridge at Rider camp and interacted for a bit. He certainly is a very intelligent charismatic young man. Sure hope he continues to develop his skills and becomes a starting Qb somewhere in Pro football (NFL-unlikely, CFL -more probable), will love it if its here in Saskatchewan but would be a Bridge fan no matter who he ends up starting for , sight, I’d hate it , but even would be a Bridge fan if he started with the Stamps.

    • Do your friend a favour and tell him he has to learn how to read a defence. Bridge will never be anything beyond a clipboard holder if he keeps throwing to DBs.

It’s too late for him to improve on his inaccurate passing – – that’s always going to be terrible – – but at least there’s a slight hope that he might be able to understand coverage someday.

      • Rider34 // May 25, 2018 at 10:03 pm //

5 words for ya 51 regarding Brandon in 2018 : In Steve Walsh we TRUST!!!! But good comments in general regarding the areas of growth needed for BB—- time will tell whois right.

        • Mr Red. // May 25, 2018 at 10:17 pm //

          oh God it’s funny!!!!!
Just because he was hired by the riders, suddenly Steve Walsh is a QB guru. The guy had a good college career at U of Miami (who didn’t in the 1980’s)a failed NFL career and was coaching High School football until the scrambling Argos hired him as they needed a coaching staff fast!.
In Steve Walsh we TRUST?? Ehat an incredibly presumptuous thing to say. You think this guy is going to light rider Qb’s on fire???
I think I’ll take Ryan Dwinwiddie, at least he had CFL experience.

          • Rider34 // May 25, 2018 at 10:41 pm //

Yeah Ryan Dinwiddie , lol , as opposed 14 year NFL vet Steve Walsh, who won a NCAA Div 1 National Championship , while playing for Florida State Gators, turned down being Gator’s O coordinator 3 times so far ,who had a 14 year career in the NFL and was back up to guys like Tom Bradey etc , runs a PRIVATE Football Developmental Academy in Bradenton Florida , that Americans pay 70, 000 k American a year to send their kids to for Wash to develop. Lets see Ryan Dinwiddies portfolio , hmmm NCAA DIV 1 qb , – ummm never was , but did play for a college Mother Ann’s UNivieristy of the Little Poor NCAA Div 3 , championships ummm 0. CFL career , years as a starter ummm NEVER , years as a proven quality #2 backup, ummm 1 — 1 start with the Bombers — famous for that start in throwing 3 int’s in a grey cup game (sorry Bomber fans ) , ahhh well it gets worse form there for his playing career. Accomplsihments as a coach ohhhhhhhh !!!! nope 0 championships , but i Heard he is as good as Buklet was at getting coffee for Huff. Yeah I certainly can see how we as Rider fans should want Dinwiddie over Walsh as our Qb coach , ohhh I forgot , Walsh as a QB coach in the CFL 1 Championships 1 , Toronto over Calgary ,ROtFLMAO !!!! The Army of One Stamp fan is so much fun to logically destroy with REAL football knowledge and facts !!!!!

70 Million bucks a year seems awful high for a football camp. I hope the tuition is tax deductible….

        • Mr Red. // May 25, 2018 at 10:58 pm //

Ummmmmmm.Don’t want to make you feel silly, but he never played for the Florida state Gators, he played for the Miami Hurricanes

The IMG academy is a glorified high school where rich people send their kids in a desperate attempt to become famous parents of a famous athlete.
It focuses on several sports beside football. Walsh was probably making more there then any college would pay him. Until he was let go.
Don’t get over excited and blow it all over like you did when the riders hired John Murphy, Roy Shivers or Danny Barrett.

I’ll still take Dinwiddie and Bo’s accomplishments- thanks

          • Mr Red. // May 25, 2018 at 11:02 pm //

and lots of QB’s have won National Championship in NCAA football. Most don’t make it in the NFL, nor do most become QB gurus

          • FFS, the “Florida State Gators” – – that’s an instant all-time classic.

      • CFLFIRST // May 25, 2018 at 11:42 pm //

Do stats mean nothing to you? He’s completed 67.5 percent of his passes in the CFL and has 12 tds against 5 ints.

You’ve decided he’s not an accurate QB, so not matter how much empirical evidence there is to refute that opinion, you’ll never be convinced.

        • Forget about stats, my friend – – you have to watch the games. Do scouts actually go to the games or do they just check the box scores to evaluate and assess player?

The only “stat” that matters to me are championships.

          • CFLFIRST // May 26, 2018 at 12:59 am //

Kevin Glenn threw 3 ints in the Eastern Final. If Bridge had been given the start in that game, he might already have one.

  9. MR Green // May 25, 2018 at 8:58 pm //

Bridge is a good backup at this point. Can he take the next step? We shall see.

    • I agree. Probably up there with B.C. and Toronto as having the strongest backups.

If Buckley were your guy…this thread would be about Canadian glory. You all don’t have a clue about the abilities of a Canadian and his right to succeed.
    Self centered much?

    • Rider34 // May 25, 2018 at 10:13 pm //

lol sorry as Rider fans we are SMART enough to KNOW Buckley would NEVER of even be asked to bring coffee to Jones in his office let alone put of a practice jersey at a Rider camp. WE SAW how good Buckley was whenhe had his sart, so bad he made Seth Dodge and Tito Sunsari look like future NFL HOF’ers if given the developmental time . Hmmm maybe that is why Buckley left the Stamps , Hufnagel lost his faith in Buckley as Buckley only had a 40% completion average of hitting Huff’s coffee cup with cream. Well at least Buckley is smart enough to be a doctor, not a bd fallback career unless he si being asked to successfully throw roles of tape to nurses in the emergency triage ward. Yikes <40% completions on those throws means a LOT of bleeding happening in the ER.

      • Mr Red. // May 25, 2018 at 10:40 pm //

Bring Jones coffee? Jones would never want just coffee, must be a 12 pack of assorted Tim’s baked goods with that too.

Bridge 11-21 in Eastern Final. Yet Buckley sucks

        • Rider34 // May 25, 2018 at 11:48 pm //

lol yeah well, lets see JUST HOW MANY yards did Buckley throw for //or points did he help his team score ( apart maybe for a 1 yard goal line run as a scub sub) in ANY PRO playoff game —-0 YEAR that Buckley what a HALL OF FAME candidate !!!!!! in comparison to Bridge. Again Didn’t know POT was legal till maybe Julyish, Red ya gotta come down and stop toking someday !!!! its true POT does make YA DELUSIONAL !!!!!

Ease up White Horse. Calling out a whole fan base because of a few individuals comments that you don’t appreciate is completely inaccurate and makes you sound as ridiculous as your Red cousin. I have regularly made positive comments about Calgary’s fan base despite the very few low life Stamps fans on this site. Harold is one Stamps fan in particular that posts here with common sense and a lack of hate that give the Stamps fan base a solid rep.

wow , you mean , #13 Niamen — the U of Sask Huskie QB ( THAT plays QB in the vaunted U-Sport league that you claim produces elite prospects like Buckley, lol ) who is at camp in the internship program. Wow Walsh MUST be doing a great job with our Qb’s if Niamen is the guy you are picking on regarding our Qb depth chart !!!! as the 4th year u=sport university INTERN shouldn’t get any notice at all in a PRO-training camp when looking at PRO prospects, man Calgary must really be Hurting for Qb’s if our intern catches your attention.

  12. Lancaster/Reed // May 25, 2018 at 10:12 pm //

I dont see whats taking the league so long to act on this. Dont count a Canadian QB as one of the 20 Canadians you must have, but if hes on the field, he counts as one of your 7. It doesnt seem that complicated.

    • That’s actually a pretty good solution to stopping teams from trying to circumvent the ratio by just having a NI stand around and pretend he’s the 3rd string QB.

      • Lancaster/Reed // May 26, 2018 at 1:16 am //

You would think that somebody in the cfl office has thought of this. Just do it before the season starts. Mid-season rule changes seem kind of mickey mouse.

    • Mr Red. // May 26, 2018 at 12:27 am //

Atlee is learning, doing what you’d expect out of a late round pick, probably be a special teams player at best; at least for now. Terry Williams has more upside then did the Williams who was cut.

  16. MR. Green // May 25, 2018 at 10:55 pm //

Buckley will make a nice nurse. His only hope of wearing green is being a nurse.

  17. 14thman // May 25, 2018 at 10:56 pm //

I give Buckley credit for making a decision to go after his dream. Football wasn’t in his future and chose a different career path.

Brandon Bridge is trying to get youth into football. He was talented enough to go to a division one NCAA school as a quarterback . He is making strides to change the perception of the Canadian quarterback.
Is this any difference from an Andrew Wiggins, Kelly Olynick, Joey Votto, or Tyler Ennis.

Red as much as your hatred for the Riders, this is a discussion that is league impacting. Being able to get a Canadian quarterback on your roster, and allowing them To count towards the ratio is going to open up doors. It’s a good thing for the league to have.
Nathan Rourke is another Canadian qb who is doing well in the NCAA. Let’s celebrate the fact we have a Canadian quarterback in the league and playing well. Let’s enjoy a Canadian doing well in a previously imported dominated position.

    • Good post 14th

    • Rider34 // May 26, 2018 at 12:04 am //

agree with Yup good post 14, I am just having fun regarding my disparaging Buckleys future as a Doctor, I wish him all the success possible in the future career, we are short capable doctors in western Canada. That being said I still think if he had to play tape catch with the Emergency nurses his completion rate still would be , 40%—lol , throwing is just not his gig !!!!!

  18. He looks good and I wish him well. Kind of wish he would tuck the ball away a bit better when he scrambles.

  19. Jim Bob // May 25, 2018 at 11:36 pm //

Wish Bridge, Picton and the kid in Winnipeg who just signed the very best being CANADIAN in the way the rules are set and setting the tone for the QB position no matter where they played college ball. They are all in camp for a reason and the ratio rules really mean nothing at this point. If given the chance to play and develop I expect all 3 of them to prove a point one way or another.

  20. Please tell me these proclamations about Steve Walsh being a brilliant QB guru are just a joke. You can’t be serious with such laughable comments.

WTF has has ever done in terms of coaching besides “coach” at the high school level?

“In Steve Walsh we trust” – – FFS, Regina could hire Mr Dressup as their DC and I swear Rider Fan would be promising everyone how devastating the Tickle Trunk Defence is going to be.

    • Lancaster/Reed // May 26, 2018 at 12:41 am //

You never knew what was going to come out of the Tickle Trunk. Sounds like it might be pretty good.

      • Rider34 // May 26, 2018 at 1:07 am //

Gatta agree !!! the ‘Tickle Trunk’ ,was pretty much always go to GOLD !!!! Come to think of it inadvertently 51 might have just found a great name for ‘Jones D’ ya never know what to expect what is gonna come out , but ya know its more often then not gonna be devastating to the opposition!!! Good point Lancaster.

      Ding Ding Ding
Comment of the night Area51. Couldn’t have said it better.
The riders could hire Betty White as QB coach and they’d say the same thing!

    • Why not? Calgary has Buckshot.

      • Mr Red. // May 26, 2018 at 12:57 am //

Better than anything that’s come out of Regina. You obviously watched it! You probably watched Stampede wrestling too.

        • Great comeback. That brain cell is working hard tonight. Poor guy lacks neurotransmitters.

        • Who didn’t watch Stampede Wrestling? Created by Stu Hart from Saskatoon, Saskatchewan.

    • True Green // May 26, 2018 at 9:30 am //

      Haha that’s actually pretty good!

IF anything in Calgary can be called Historic– “The STU HEART DUNGEON ” would qualify , so once again , RED your pathetic attempt to sarcastically slag Saskatchewan backfires on ya , as even today “the Heart Dungeon ” produces more WWE Super Stars ( by the way that would be the NFL equivalent in Pro Wrestling ) then lame assed Hufnagle has produced guys that have stuck in the NFL long term!!!! The Hated Riders have had about as many players from their system go to or stick in the NFL as the stamps. Hell if Stu would of played nice with Vince Mc Manns Daddy it could of been possibly Monday Night Raw and Stampede Wrestling in the MOnday/Tuesday Pro wrestling TV line up rather then WWE RAW and WWE Smack Down. But like all things usually Calgary. Stu’s Huge ego, lack of realism, and over blown sense of importance was the downfall of that plan. ( and yes Calgary does have its share of GREAT people as well , but IMO just far to many Reds to be an excellent place to be.)

Stu Hart is long gone and the house where the dungeon existed is no longer owned by the Hart family. There is no dungeon.

LOL Vince McMahon had no interest in allowing Stampede Wrestling to co-exist with the WWE. Stu really had no choice but to sell out.
Stampede Wrestling was a small time production. As a born and raised Calgarian, I was there many times as a kid on a Friday night. Great show, but it was in a barn.

Between Carter’s special treatment and 2 QB’s with different intentions fighting for the no.1 QB spot, there is going to be a lot of fires for Jones to put out.
If the Giants did tell Bridge he needs more playing time, do you think he’s going to happily sit on the bench just for the sake of the riders and you fans? No way, he’ll want out of dodge. And you think Collaros, needing to quickly revive his career prior to 30, will do the same?? Forget it!
These 2 men’s interest goes far beyond you guys.

    • And all of them will be in Humboldt, representing. As you are representing the Stamps belittling it. Class act.

    • Between BLM special treatment and all the bickering and infighting on the Stamps roster there will be alot of fires for Dickinson to put out. Choking with the big game on the line is the culture in Calgary. This is a team that rides the coat tails of the Flames. Try to build a new stadium. …good luck…lol…..contaminated land….lol….barn for a stadium. ….lol…..and a childish clueless 40 something year old boy named Red who nobody cares about but is just crying for attention on this site…..pathetic. …lol….

Sorry to the normal Calgarians and Stamps fans , i have let Red get to me this evening, will try to avoid that f’ing creep moving forward again, Just ignore ignore ignore !!!! AS a wise man once told me ; ‘avoid wrestling with a PIG , as all that happens is you get dirty and the PIG likes wrestling in the mud !!! AND RED is a PIG !!!! is a PIG !!!! is a PIG!!!! , perhaps the all time KING of PIGS !!!!!!!

    • Mr Red. // May 26, 2018 at 1:39 am //

You seem to make that apology and promise alot Rider34

      • Rider34 // May 26, 2018 at 1:53 am //

Seriously RED that is it !! Should I ever have you pointed out to me in Calgary !!! trust me ya wont be posting your hateful crap on this sight for a very long time should that meeting occur!!! Everyone has a tolerance limit and you have well past yours with me.

    • thethinman // May 26, 2018 at 8:55 am //

Chill, man. You’re going to have a stroke. Sheesh.

  24. Let’s be honest here, everyone in the CFL
    – – including Brando Bridge – – knows that Collaros will absolutely without question be the starting QB in Regina.

Bridge doesn’t have a hope in hell of ever playing in the NFL – – he’s way to inaccurate with his throws.

Look at the huge passing windows in the CFL compared to the NFL – – it’s common for a receiver to have no defender within 5yds of him. And Bridge still can’t make the throws even with the receiver being so wide open.

  25. Mr Red. // May 26, 2018 at 10:37 am //

What’s the difference between the Regina roughriders and Regina Pats?
The Regina Pats could win a semi-final game after getting a playoff boost from their league.
What happened to the Swift Current Broncos? They must have choked.
I guess the coach didn’t inject enough into them. It’s been 30 years since they’ve had a coach that can do that.

    • I’ve never commented on this sight before but feel compelled to now. I find the attempt at humour with respect to the Swift Current Broncos of 30 years ago to be highly inappropriate and disgusting. That team overcame a horrific bus crash in 1986 and went on to win the Memorial Cup in 1989. The team was coached by a pedofile who sexually abused his players repeatedly during that period. Your post has nothing to do with this thread. Grow up and get a life you immature waste of skin.

  26. Trumpino // May 27, 2018 at 5:14 pm //

Until they change the rule for Canadian QB’s none of them will have a chance It’s a business they need to put the best product on the field. That’s why they choose players from NCAA Div 1,Div 2 . QBs in Canadian university have no chance .#change the rule

  27. B.s.. American trained is not Canadian trained. Wake -up.. It like having different records in CFL, Rushing Canadian Record.. Cfl Record. Ect. Basketball does not have that. Baseball does not have that.

  28. Nfl does not have that.Sorry Knuckleheads.

  29. Trumpino // June 1, 2018 at 3:37 pm //

You don’t know what your talking about . So then why do Cdn QBs go down to the states . ? They want to play against better players and get noticed .
