After playing like hot garbage, Redblacks QB Trevor Harris pulled against Stamps (twice)

Trevor Harris’ tough night against the Calgary Stampeders earned him a spot on the bench, twice.

Harris went 4-for-9 for 17 yards and two interceptions in the first half against the Stamps before getting pulled in favour of back up Dominique Davis. The offence managed just 27 net yards of offence and one – one! – first down while holding the ball for less than nine minutes.

The Redblacks fans booed the home team on several occasions in the second quarter.

Harris was put back in the game for Ottawa to start the second half but Redblacks head coach Rick Campbell pulled him again in the fourth quarter. Final numbers for Harris: 14-of-22 for 111 yards and two picks.

The entire Redblacks offence could muster just three points in a disappointing loss to Calgary.

Stumps 3-0 via easy sched vs eastern teams only ….JOKE

Edmonton lost to Toronto, Saskatchewan lost to Montreal and Ottawa, and Winnipeg lost to Hamilton. Aside from the Stampeders, the only Western team to have not lost to an Eastern opponent is BC, and that’s more a reflection of not having played any except the pushover Alouettes than it is a reflection of the Lions being any good. Joke’s on you!

And they were lucky to win 2 of the 3 games. They will be screwed without that scrub mitchell. at least with him they look half way decent win a couple of games against weaker opponents.

That “scrub” just won his 60th start tonight. Fastest ever to get to that mark.

Funny about how people question the quality of their opponent after they play them…

I’m not a Stamps fan but I sure respect the organization. Bo Levi is he most frustrating QB to play against, his success frankly is hard to believe. Scrub? I don’t think so. Do I like him? Nope. Because he usually kicks my teams ass.

    Correction to my name.

  5. O.K. could we now not have any more sanctimonious condemnation of Chris Jones’ choices on deciding to take the no.1 guy out and let the no. 2 have a go?

Harris not getting much help from teammates.
Diontae Spencer, since mouthing off at Carter, has done absolutely squat.
so watch what you brag about, it usually comes back to hit you in the chops

This could end up being the worst offensive output offensively for the league as a whole in years.
I know it’s only week 5 but this is a bad start.

Harris looked completely lost out there. And to think he spent much of the off-season working on mental toughness. At least we’re done with Calgary…

Hot garbage is the perfect description of this game. What the hell happened to the Redblacks? I may be biased but I think they played worse than the Riders did against Montreal.

When they were successful, the east lacked starting quarterbacks and were weak…now that everyone is catching up…suddenly the two tones don’t look so impressive…

      I think not.

  10. That was the worst game I have seen the Redblacks play in my three years as a season ticket holder. Calgary is the best team in the league. Ottawa not so much. Thankfully they have the lions next week.

  11. Ottawa’s offence was less than brutal against the Stamps. The wind, snow and the temperature of -36°C was just too much for Harris to overcome. Calgary had no problems with the weather.

  12. Tiger man // July 13, 2018 at 7:27 am //

Harris has never performed to the level of a starting quarterback.

A lot of hype for this guy, but little in the way of results.

  13. If Jeremiah Masoli ever had a night like Trevor Harris did last night, people in Hamilton would be losing their minds.

    • Tiger man // July 13, 2018 at 1:51 pm //

This is Masoli’s first season as the starter…not so for Harris..

There is a backup in Hamilton (Manziel) whom could step in and carry on…not so in Ottawa…

  14. There might be a good game this season.

  15. It didn’t help with his receivers dropping everything. And, Calgary completely shut down the running game. Bright spot… Noel Thorpe is a great defensive coach.

  16. Calgary D is legit. One thing to criticize Ottawa’s QB play but they couldn’t run either. Powell was shut down. I thought the Ottawa O Line looked good except for when they face calgary. Receivers weren’t really open either. Secondary obviously has talent and great scouting. Ellingson and sinopoli had little room out there. Spencer has been pretty disappointing this season. This was the worst I have seen him play. I think blame needs to be spread out and credit given to Calgary. QB play will be fine in Ottawa.

  17. I was at the game last night. Aside from a rabbit getting the loudest cheers, I couldn’t help but notice how fast BLM gets rid of the ball. His read and delivery are really fast. Makes the rush almost seem.pointless. also the OC was criticized for abandoning the run. No surprise here. It was absolutely ineffective.
